Women of Grace
Grace
According to Old Testament scripture, Grace means kindness, favor, beauty, pleasant, precious, well favored.
In the New Testament, Grace is translated from the Greek word “Charis” meaning gracious of manner of spirit, especially the divine influence upon the heart. What we see in these descriptive words is God’s desired view of us. If God’s view is to be realized, we must first yield or humble ourselves to the will of God in our lives and come to understand that it is through His divine influence, by the Holy Spirit and “dunamis” power working in us, that change takes place.
Women of Grace…
is a ministry that is committed to allowing the Holy Spirit to affect spiritual as well as practical change, thus conforming us into the likeness of Christ. We believe the Holy Spirit will accomplish this through these gifts and abilities: wisdom, knowledge, faith, healing, miracles, prophecy, discernment, graciousness, honor, integrity, “dunamis”.
Women of Grace…
1. Women joining together…
for prayer, praise and worship, teaching and fellowship. Heb. 10:24-25 “and let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another.
If we don’t have love for those in the body, how can we effectively minister to those without. 1 Cor. 13:2 “and though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing.” Rom. 12:9, 10, 14, 18, 20. Cling to what is good, be kindly affectionate to one another with brotherly love, in honor giving preference to one another;…distributing to the needs of the saints.
3. Women building intergenerational relationships…
by pairing different generations (ages) of women together so that each will learn from the other and come to understand and embrace their differences. According to Titus 2:3 “the older women likewise, that they be reverent in behavior, teaching the young women”.
4. Upholding one another in prayer…
as commanded in James 5:16 “Confess your faults one to another, and pray one for another, that ye may be healed. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man (or woman) avails much”, so that we can be a comfort to others as we are told in 2 Cor. 1:3-4 “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort those who are in any trouble, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God”.
5. Learning practical as well as spiritual life skills…
through classes on various subjects, parenting, financial, gardening, etc. We are stewards over an earthly body and earthly goods given to us for a short time. We must be good stewards over all. We are responsible to treat our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit that it is, and to care for our families and possessions as gifts from God.
